Snowline JUSD Parents & Guardians,
Welcome to December! The last month of the calendar year reminds me of gifts and the power of giving. Thank you for the collective generosity expressed in a multitude of ways. If you would like to join us in our holiday gift-giving effort to support our students in need, feel free to donate unwrapped toys or gift cards at the District Office or Student Intervention & Attendance Department. Your support is greatly appreciated, as it maximizes our efforts to ensure success for Snowline JUSD’s greatest treasures---our children.
The recent 2022 General Election addressed three seats on the Snowline JUSD Governing Board. Unofficial results remain the status for Governing Board Area 1 that has Christina Behringer and John Kozyra as the two candidates. Ruth Martinez ran unopposed and earned the seat for Governing Board Area 3. Marcus Hernandez was approved for the seat for Governing Board Area 4 over Brandan Dixon through the provisional appointment process. I have great admiration for all five of the candidates. Their deep commitment to the success and ongoing well-being of the Snowline learning community was clearly evident. My sincere thanks go to all of them for their willingness to serve.
While we remain committed to our comprehensive health and wellness effort that includes providing all students with the life skills necessary for success, we have expanded our offerings to include free telehealth services from Hazel. With parent/guardian permission, our students can immediately speak with a medical doctor or mental health clinician from school or home. Sign up now to access the free services.
Our annual Senior Citizen Holiday Program returns from its brief hiatus during the pandemic to honor our older residents and treat them to a wonderful experience. The celebration will showcase vocal, instrumental, and dramatic performances by our Serrano HS students, provide a wonderful dinner to all attendees, and offer holiday giveaways. The entire event is free for all senior citizens, including bus transportation to and from Vista Verde ES and the Phelan, Pinon Hills, and Wrightwood Senior Centers. Please join us at Serrano HS from 1:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14.
The final school day in December ends the first semester of learning, so please remind your children to remain strong and finish with their best effort. In the Snowline learning community, our people matter so please remember to take care of yourself, take care of others, and continue to come together, stay together, and work together in service of #SnowlineSuccess for all.

¡Bienvenido a diciembre! El último mes del año calendario me recuerda los regalos y el poder de dar. Gracias por la generosidad colectiva expresada de muchas maneras. Si desea unirse a nosotros en nuestro esfuerzo de entrega de regalos navideños para apoyar a nuestros estudiantes necesitados, no dude en donar juguetes sin envolver o tarjetas de regalo en la Oficina del Distrito o en el Departamento de Intervención y Asistencia Estudiantil. Su apoyo es muy apreciado, ya que maximiza nuestros esfuerzos para garantizar el éxito de los mayores tesoros de Snowline JUSD--- nuestros niños.
Las recientes elecciones generales de 2022 abordaron tres asientos en la Junta de Gobierno de Snowline JUSD. Los resultados no oficiales siguen siendo el estado para el Área 1 de la Junta de Gobierno que tiene a Christina Behringer y John Kozyra como los dos candidatos.
